Casino Buffer Zones

tags: casinos The Rapid City Council has asked the planning commission to discuss the possibility of a change in the current city ordinance regarding buffer zones around establishments serving alcohol. This ordinance also includes video lottery establishments. Alderman Sam Kooiker said he would like to see an objective definition to the ordinances current term of “sufficiently buffered”. Rapid City delays action on Cabela's back taxes

tags: cabelas taxes Update: On Monday, July 19, 2010, aldermen delayed action for two weeks on their request that Cabela’s pay back taxes on the 28 acres dating back to September, 2007, when the public vote approving the incentive package was certified. The Rapid City Council has more questions about why Cabela’s did not take ownership of land that was part of the city’s incentive package for the outdoor recreation store until earlier this year.For more information on this topic click here.(see more + comments)

City's septic system fees, inspection rate to mirror county

tags: city_news public_works septic_systems Rapid City will likely lower its permit fees and inspection frequency for septic systems to mirror the newly passed regulations in Pennington County.

Currently, Rapid City requires all septic systems within city limits and a 1-mile radius to be pumped, inspected and receive a permit for $125 every three years. Under the county ordinance….read more
